    Hi again!

Can I stop specialists from requesting time off the day of?  Currently, each morning, we have to go into all of our time off limits and zero them out to prevent people from requesting time off.  We want them to be able to request up until the day before, but not the day of.

    Hi Jammie,

If you don't mind waiting a bit I'll do some testing to see if we can achieve this through time-off rules.

That being said, I would probably always encourage organisations to actively manage time-off limits where appropriate in the same way as managing any other aspect of WFM such as calendar items and schedules.

This could be that you have your limits set for the year in advance and each time a schedule is published, limits are adjusted for that newly scheduled period from a 'forecast' limit to an 'actual' limit. After building schedules you may be able to allow more agents on a day and/or less on another day. Lowering when needed will ensure you don't give away too much time-off whereas increasing where possible is a good news story for agents and compensates for any days that the original limit needed to be reduced.

Even if I can find a technical solution to your question, you may still find that setting the limit each day is a better option. As this would display to the agent as no spots are available the message is clear at the time of the request. A rule (or combination of rules) may still show that there is availability to the agent, though requests would never be auto-granted which may be harder to appropriately communicate why to agents.

    Hi Jammie,

I've had a bit of a test with multiple time-off rules using the same agent and time-off type with different assignment dates. I was hoping that WFM may be able to use both rule concurrently, though it seems that the rule applied to requests is the one with the most recent application date only.

I would suggest you continue editing time-off limits for now as it provides you with the desired outcome with reasonably minimal effort. You may also wish to raise a feature request to include a minimum days in advance option under the 'Prevent agent time-off request, if:' option in time-off rules.

    Apologies I couldn't help more.

    Cheers,
    Andy

    Hi Jammie,

At present there is no way to stop people booking on the day only 'weeks'.

There is a site that has been set up for customers to post ideas and vote for existing ideas - there is an idea on their related to your question so you could go ahead and vote for it?
    PureEngage Product Ideas Lab

    Hope that helps
