Yes, the collect input action will store the user's DTMF input in the action's Input Data Name variable.
A couple notes:
1) The failure path means either the caller did not enter any/enough digits (if the Number of Digits is > 1), or if you are using a Verification type the caller didn't confirm their choice.
2) The success path of the action means the system successfully heard the expected number of digits. You might need to do additional validation to make sure the caller input a valid digit. For example, if you ask for a value from 1 to 5, the success path will be taken if the caller enters 8. You would need to put a decision action in the success path to make sure the digit is in the correct range. You might want to put each collect input action inside a loop action to allow the caller more than 1 try to answer a question.
