Interaction Desktop Not saving layout

I am probably going to open a Support ticket on this, but thought i would see if anybody else has ran into this issue.

I have 1 agent who every time they logs into Interaction Desktop, the layout is reset to the default. I have blown out the UserProfile. 15.0 from the computer as well as deleted it from the Client Settings on the server. I see it being rebuilt on the computer after she logs in, but i don't see any of the layout changes  (Adding, removing or preposition views) being saved. I also don't see the new userprofile xml being uploaded to the CIC server.

I have also removed the Session mangaer clustsers file, the interactiondesktop.modulescache.

I have turned up logging on InteractionDesktop and reviewing logs now. I am running 2018 R3 Patch 4

    Thank you,

I've run into this a few times. Usually it is a permissions issue to the folder where the local configuration is saved or the workstation can not connect to the server on one of the ports which are used for sending the configuration files between the server and the client. I believe it is port 8018 or 8019 but can't remember for sure. If you make a bunch of configuration changes do you see any errors in the log when the configuration is attempted to be saved, also do you see any errors when the client opens and tries to pull down the configuration from the CIC server?

Yeah i just finished reviewing the logs and see:
[Error] FileTransfer.UploadFileImpl: Https upload failed, using fallback method.

    as well as

    [Error] FileTransfer.DownloadImpl:

I will dig into the permissions and see if anything thing stands out. All our users are the same, so not sure what would have changed for this user.

    Thank you,

I have a ticket open with Genesys as all our report templates are saying they are not found when trying to run reports. When reviewing the debug logs i am seeing the same error's and i believe they are related.

Genesys came back and said the issue was security keys not syncing up between sessionmanager and HTTPPluginHost. The issue was resolved after doing a switchover.

    Thank you,

We faced same situation today, and we were able to restart the subsystem HTTPPluginHost and started working again. So in the future, we will restart that subsystem if doesn't work, then switchover.

    Thanks

We also faced the same situation few years before and we created Host A records to resolve the issue.
    To login to Interaction Desktop:
    - Are you using IC Server Host name  or are you using Host A records?

    Hi Daniel,

Has it been created something like this:

Host A Record: have 3 Host A records pointing to CIC servers

    1. HostA.aaa.com – configured with Primary & Backup CIC Server

           IC SERVER 1 - xx.xx.xx.xx (IP)
           IC SERVER 2 - yy.yy.yy.yy (IP)

    2. IC_SERVER1.aaa.com – configured with Primary  CIC Server

       IC SERVER 1 - xx.xx.xx.xx (IP)

    3. IC_SERVER2.aaa.com – configured with Backup CIC Server

       IC SERVER 2 - yy.yy.yy.yy (IP)

The above settings resolved our issue.
Can you share your Host A records settings ?

    Regards,
    Sachin Nangia

I just want to clarify this response concerning DNS records (which is correct, BTW!)

You should have a total of 4 "A" records for your servers, not 3.

Two of the records are set up as normal and point (one each) to the two servers.
The other two records should both have the SAME NAME but point one to each server. It is this latter name that you should then use in your client (and also, incidentally, in your Option 160 DNS record for AutoProvisioning).

So, for example you might have:

    ic1.mydomain.com - xx.xx.xx.xx (IP)
    ic2.mydomain.com - yy.yy.yy.yy (IP)
    ic.mydomain.com - xx.xx.xx.xx (IP)
    ic.mydomain.com - yy.yy.yy.yy (IP)

Clients would then use ic.mydomain.com (as would Option 160).

In addition, you should create SRV records for the two servers (depending on whether you use TCP, TLS or UDP for SIP, this is slightly different) and the Registration Groups for Managed IP Phones should use this SRV record.

This is all covered in the "Switchover" section of either ICCE or ICCS.

I hope that clarifies for anyone who was unsure!
