  • 1.  How to use "SOAP Request" initiator to initiate a handler.

    Hi All,

We are trying to use the "SOAP Request" initiator to initiate a handler, but we couldn't find any information on how to use it.  The info in the interaction designer help is not clear enough.

So how does the CIC server listen to a SOAP Request in this case?
What are the other possible solutions to initiate a handler from an external application with a list of parameters to be passed to the handler?

We are using CIC 2018 R1.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

The "SOAP Request" initiator is fired by either the SOAP Listener or the SOAP Notifier COM API. The SOAP Listener is an ISAPI Extension that can be installed on an IIS web server. The documentation for that can be found in the CIC and SOAP API Developer's Guide. The SOAP Notifier COM API is a COM-based API that can be called by an external application. The documentation for that can be found in the SOAP Notifier COM API Developer's Guide.

My recommendation would be to have the external application just call the SendCustomNotification utility which will fire the Custom Notification Initiator.

    Hope that helps!
