It depends on the data that you're trying to gather.
The two methods that I've used are writing a handler that pulls values from directory services (goal was to get the outbound ANI currently assigned to every user) and concatenates them into a CSV or using powershell to pull the information from the registry of the server to generate a CSV (I use this to get licensing information, but anything generally in DS is exposed in the registry as well).
If you want to look at your users in the registry, the key is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Interactive Intelligence\EIC\Directory Services\Root\<<YOUR SITE NAME>>\Production\Users
