  • 1.  Embedded DB Server vs. Standalone DB Server

    Posted 08-09-2019 16:05
Looking through the Pulse 9.0 documentation I see that Pulse Collector now has an option for using an embedded DB Server and Config Server is currently using an embedded DB Server.
    https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/EZP/latest/Deploy/EmbeddedDBServer

I am curious around the thoughts between using the embedded vs the standalone.

Are more connections being created to the DBMS?
Is there more overhead on the embedded processes?
     - How much work is actually being done via the DB Server?
    Traffic on the network?
    Any other thoughts?

Would love to get some insight into what other people are thinking and even if anybody has any posts to share on the subject.  I am not coming up with anything that Genesys has put out yet.

    Hi Kevin,

Not sure what the official line is, but I can tell you when we upgraded to Pulse that supported embedded DB server we took advantage of it.  At the end of the day, from my perspective, it's one less component to manage (go wrong).
