Since configdbserver is not able to connect to db I think --back up config server is not up and running .

I would appreciate if some one can help me to fix this
    thanks

    Hi Ajith,

I am afraid I would need more details about what are you trying to do with a ConfigDBServer.

If you are installing Configuration Server 8.5, it does not require a Config DB Server anymore, as it uses a JDBC connection now.

Also, it is important to consider that, in order to allow DB Server to connect to a database, you must have the DBMS client installed on the same machine, otherwise DB Server won't connect.

See the Guide below for additional reference:
    https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/FR/latest/DBConn/Welcome

    Hope that helps,

    Hi Rafael ,
Thanks so much for the reply.
    Additional details >
The back up config server is down and i see in the log just this at the beginning and it continuous.

    TRACE: DBServerThread: processingConnection
    TRACE: DBServerThread: processingConnection
    TRACE: DBServerThread: processingConnection
    TRACE: DBServerThread: processingConnection
    TRACE: DBServerThread: processingConnection

config server and back up config server are version 8.5.100.17.There was a recent patch on the linux hosts, where I have these applications and database on the host where config server is installated.
primary and backup config db server are on 8.1.301.14.I agree version 8.5 doesnt need a cfg dbserver--just fyi

Config server options- under dbserver section i have these--dbengine,dbserver,host,password,port,connectiontimeout ,server name
under back up config server option i also have the above mentioned options configured.

is there a chance of the db being struck/locked?
please let me know if you need any other details

    Thanks
    Ajith
