  • 1.  Pulse 8.5 Name Column in Widget

    Is there a way to display a Name differently...kind of like a Friendly Name...instead of the one populated automatically? Example: We have a VQ named "NOC_PEOPLENET@Cisco_Call_Manager". Instead displaying that in the Widget, we would like to simply display "PeopleNet". I'm not seeing any options in the Widget Template tool to address that. Thanks.

    Eric,

    An approach I just figured out is to create a DN Group of type=acd queue. Then add the single VQ to the DN group. Then select the DN group in the Pulse widget. The displayed name is the name of the DN group.

    Hope this helps.

    You can just add the following to the annex tab:
    [pulse]
    display_name=<whatever>

    The description is in the deployment book if you want additional details.

    Thanks, Ivan. Worked like a charm once I successfully navigated the deployment guide instructions.

    Just for additional steps required from the deployment guide:

    In the Pulse Collectors:

    Options - create Section = object-name-format

    In that Section -

    Option Name = [whatever object type or subtype you're looking to use custom naming for from the listed ones in the guide]. In my case it was "VirtACDQueue"
    Option value = %CustomName%

    The initial config requires Collector restarts, but after that, whenever you change the annex section [pulse], option [display_name] value for any object type/subtype you set as above in the Collectors, the change displays on the next widget refresh.

    Thanks, David. I wound up doing just that but was hoping there might be an option within Pulse itself. The other method would eventually create an accumulation of "litter" in the Objects list if you want a "friendly name" for each Queue. Not ideal, but it works. Maybe a future release of Pulse will have include that in the Display Options for the widgets.
