    Has Anyone installed WebDav server for Pulse to share snapshots between Genesys Pulse and Genesys Pulse Collector ?

    Hi team,

    I have mentioned below the steps for webdav and iis configuration needed for pulse application.

    IIS(InternetInformationService)

    In Gax and Pulse Setup, we need the IIS Configuration and Webdav Configuration.

     

    In the Windows Server Box:

    How to Enable IIS:

    In the Administrative tool à Select Server Manager à The window will be displayed.

    In that, we Need to select Add Roles.

    Then it will prompt us the selection window, In this we need to select

    • File Services
    • WebServer IIS(InternetInformationService)

    And then we need to select next and install the application.

    Adding the role features in IIS:

    After installing the WebServer IIS, we need to right click on the WebServer IIS Option displayed under roles in the left side pane.

    Then we need to select the add role features. And it will prompt us the selection features window.

    Then we need to add the following options:

    Under WebServer, we need to select the following features.

     

    By Default, some features are available as (With Tick).

    1.Common HTTP Features.

    Static Content

    Default Document

    Directory Browsing

    HTTP Errors

    HTTP Redirection

     Webdav Publishing

     

    We need to select all the options available.

     

     

     

    2.Application Development

    ASP.Net

    .Net

    ASP

    CGI

    ISAPI Extensions

    ISAPI Filters

    Server Side Includes

    We need to select all the options available.

     

    3.Health and Diagnostics

    HTTP Logging

    Request Monitor

    4.Security           

    Basic Authentication

    Windows Authentication

    Request Filtering

    IP And Domain Restrictions

    5.PerformanceInstalled

    Static Content

    6.Management Tools

    IIS Management Console

    And then we need to select next and click install.

    And then close the window.

     

     

    Opening IIS:

    After we successfully installed IIS, we can open the IIS application by

    In the Start Menu à Type IIS. à Internet Information Services Manager will be available

    And then we need to select IIS application service Manager.

    It will open the IIS application main window.

     

     

    Configuration to be done in IIS application:

     

    Authentication:

    Double click in the authentication

    And it will display the types of authentication available and its properties.

    We need to enable the anonymous authentication, and disable all other authentication available.

    Directory Browsing:

    • We need to Select all the options available in it.
    • And then in the action pane, we need to click in the enable option.
    • Then we need to click on Apply.

    WebDAV Authorizing Rule:

    • We need to select Webdav setting available in the action pane in the right side. It will prompt us one selection prompt window. And then we need to configure the following options.
    • Allow Anonymous properties queries à True
    • Allow Custom Queries à True
    • And then we need to select apply.

    Add Authoring Rule.

    • After configure WebDAV setting, we need to select add Authoring Rule,
    • And then we need to select following options.
    • Data à All Content
    • Users à All Users
    • And then Read & Source.
    • And then click save.

     

     

    MIME TYPES:

    We need to open the MIME TYPES, by double clicking and it will display all the options available.

    We need to add the file extension and description, by clicking Add. And add the 3-mime type given below.

    Go to the MIME Types section and add the following MIME types:
    1. Extension ".*" and MIME type "application/octet-stream"
    2. Extension ".gpb" and MIME type "application/octet-stream"
    3. Extension ".LZ4" and MIME type "application/octet-stream"

     

    SITES:

     In the IIS application, we need to select sites. And then right click site and then choose add website.

    And then we need to give the following configuration.

    Site Name:

    In the Site Name, we need to give our needed application name. Here we will give as PULSE.

    Physical Path:

    Under Physical path, we need to give the directory of the pulse collector output folder. Where we have created two folders for outputs

    • Heartbeat
    • Snapshots

    Type:

    • We need to select as HTTP. And then we need to give the IP Address and port No.
    • When we select as HTTPS. We need to add the SSL certificate.

     

    IP Address & Domain Restrictions:

    • We need to double click In the IP Address & Domain Restriction,
    • Then in the action pane, we need to select edit feature settings, and click as deny for unspecified clients
    • And click Ok.

     

    Add Allow Entry:

    • Then we need to select add allow entry in the action pane,
    • And then we need to give the ip address of the hosts machine running genesys pulse application.

    And then we need to start the server. It will be available in the Home Page.

    Then in the browser, we need to run the local host address.

    It will show the (Heartbeat & Snapshots) folders created.

     

     And we need to give url configuration in the pulse collector option in the CME.
