  • 1.  Composer/Eclipse installation fails..

    Hi everyone,

    I am trying to upgrade Composer/Eclipse to the latest supported level :

    Composer 8.1.560.15  (bundled with Tomcat version 9.0.36)
    Eclipse Photon (4.8)

    After successful installation of Composer/Tomcat and Eclipse, as a final step trying to load software into Eclipse fails.
    I was following deployment guide steps for off-line installation since my server is NOT to connected internet.

    Loading "com.genesyslab.composer.updateSite.zip"  with the selected options Composer common, Composer Route, Composer Voice fails with the following error:

    Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
    Software being installed: Composer Route 8.1.56.202008180042 (com.genesyslab.composer.route.feature.feature.group 8.1.56.202008180042)
    Missing requirement: Composer Route 8.1.56.202008180042 (com.genesyslab.composer.route.feature.feature.group 8.1.56.202008180042) requires 'org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu; org.eclipse.gmf.runtime.diagram.ui.properties 0.0.0' but it could not be found

    Does anyone experienced the same issue? any workaround or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Have you installed the GMF Tooling plugin?

    Hi Jason,

    Not yet, here is what I get from Genesys regarding offline installation:

    No direct option for offline install.
    Option provided by Genesys;
    Install packages on a host with internet access.
    Copy the eclipse folder to the offline server.

    I assume it will be installed thru online process, will try and share my experience later this week.

    Regards.

    Well, finally this is how I get it work:

    • Install Composer/Tomcat first, then Eclipse on a computer with FULL internet access (make sure no firewall, web filtering etc..)
    • Use same install directory structure between Internet accessed computer and the target one.
    • Zip the entire Eclipse install directory (windows zip does not work, giving long directory/file name errors but 7Zip works.)
    • copy and unzip Eclipse install on the target computer with no internet access where Composer/Tomcat is already installed.
    • start Composer/Tomcat service then start Eclipse.
    • In Eclipse login to configuration server first then load and validate projects/call flows.

    Good luck!

    Great!

    I actually have to modify Eclipse's ini file so Eclipse can connect through our proxy.  And I have to add my proxy userid/pwd in Eclipse's network settings.

    eclipse.ini

    org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.excludeContributors=org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient4

    More details can be found here:
    Disabling Apache Httpclient45 - Eclipsepedia

    It's a mess, and shouldn't be this difficult.

    Well, glad you had an easier way to get it installed.  The method (workaround) I used is the official reply/recommendation from Genesys to my support ticket... And yes, I totally agree its such a mess..
