  • 1.  Chat 2.0 Widget - Customizations: Language and Customer logo or add Company Name

    HI,

    Need to know how to change the default english language, found in the Chat 2.0 Widget as we need Spanish language to be displayed in all the chat windows, messages and buttons used in this standard widget offered by Genesys.
    Found how th change the labels for the data requested in the window appearing as "pre-chat" asking the customer for some spedific data (Last Name, First Name, e-mail, and Subject).
    Additionally, our customer is asking how to add their Company Logo  in the Chat window heading or at least to be able to customiza the text to include the Company Name there.

    I now that you are using the Widgets 2.0 on Genesys Cloud, but those widgets are actually shared across all of our platforms and we have some great docs on our Genesys Engage docs that will explain how to configure those items: https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/GWC/Current/Deployment/Welcome.  I hope that helps.

    Hi again Jim,

    Finally I was able to check the documentation but it is almost the same found for Genesys Cloud and that I checked.

    I was able to change the language to french but it did not worked if I select spanish language.

    For french language (successful case) the configuration is the following (short extract of the configuration file):

    "widgets": {
    "main":{
    "theme": "light",
    "lang": "fr",
    "i18n": "https://apps.mypurecloud.com/widgets/9.0.014.05/i18n/widgets-fr.i18n.json"


    While attemptiong to change the language to spanish (es), this is not working; the configuration is almost the same:

    "main":{
    "theme": "light",
    "lang": "es",
    "i18n": "https://apps.mypurecloud.com/widgets/9.0.014.05/i18n/widgets-es.i18n.json"

    Is spanish language available or should I choose other version different (newer than) 9.0.014.05 to have access to the spanish language.

    Hi again

    Tested other languages as it (Italian), and pt-BR (Brazilian Portuguese), but the result is also the same as for es (spanish) language: the language configured is not displayed.

    Any help is welcome.

    I think the problem might be with the version number in the i18n URL.  Try to make it less specific by just using "9.0".  If you change it to that then it looks like the JSON pulls up properly: https://apps.mypurecloud.com/widgets/9.0/i18n/widgets-es.i18n.json

    Unfortunately it is still not working for Spanish, and the webchat language is not changing from english with the last suggention you've sent:

    Please also take into account tha this new link is now working for Italian and for Brazilian Portuguese:

    (but not working with the full version configured previously):

    (only french language is working with this one).

    Circling back around to this thread.  I heard back from engineering and it seems that Spanish support in the widgets wasn't supported until version 9.0.0014.09 (https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/RN/9.0.x/gwc-wgt90rn/gwc-wgt9001409).  And the latest release of the widgets is now 9.0.017.26.

    So they suggested that you use the latest version of the widgets and the localization should start working.

    Sorry for the run around on this and the long delay between answers.
