  • 1.  Widget Chat on IOS has a issue with keyboard

    Posted 02-17-2021 14:24
    Hello Community:

Currently we detected a problem with de chat's widget, This issue is only some IOS device, actually the widget works fine but there is only a display issue with the keyboard because this no looks fine.

We have had a ticket 2860220 with Genesys Care. the response was

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
The widget itself doesn't control the keyboard. The OS is determining when to show / hide the keyboard. The widget itself has no control over that so that is platform specific expected behavior.

(This also covers the case I've stated above.)

The difference between ios and android is because the respective OS handles the keyboard show/hide differently.

From a widget side we are unable to streamline the behavior between the two OS' because of that. It's the OS controlling this not the widget.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

But there is a bug with the keyboard related that don't allowed display fine on OIS

Could you help us to improve the display issue with keyboard related?

    Hello Heriberto,

The current behavior is very much driven by native iOS keyboard handling: our current design leverages each devices' capability. We made explicit decision to keep the focus on the input area, which keeps the keyboard open as user manually scrolls back: this way user can still type new messages while reading older messages if necessary. This is largely same behavior across many chat solutions. Can you be more explicit on the bug you mention?

    Thanks
    Angelo
