  • 1.  Chat Web Form Customizatio

    Hello all,

    I have chat implemented and working, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to modify the default chat widget Genesys provides, it just appears when you use the code from the site, but I do not see where these attributes are referenced, so I assume it resides in a repository somewhere?  below is a screen shot of the web-form, I would like to change the look of it, however, I am not an HTML guy...

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    It will require a little HTML knowledge.  You can find most of the information you need here:   https://developer.mypurecloud.com/api/webchat/widget-version2.html

    There is a lot there about changing files and looks.  Pay attention to the Custom userData section for the fields.

    Hi Michael,
    For now, unless you are using Predictive Engagement, the way to customize the pre-chat registration form requires some degree of HTML/JavaScript knowledge, as mentioned above. See following links:
    There's an open Idea on Genesys Ideas Portal to make Widgets customization easily accessible to Business Admins in our Admin UI.

    Relating to the Web Chat questions, please can I confirm that we can use the 'newer' Resource Centre documentation on Widgets as a supported reference for Genesys Cloud Web Chat implementations including features such as channel selector?

    Hi Blair,
    The Resource Center at https://all.docs.genesys.com/WID/HIW has not been adjusted yet for the needs of Cloud customers. In fact, you will find there more widgets than are actually available to Cloud customers (for example, Callback is not available). 
    To some extent, Channel Selector is platform independent, so you could use it, but keep in mind that showing EWT-related icons for channel availability is not supported in Genesys Cloud.
    For now we don't have plans to replace the PureCloud Developer Center in short term.
