Webcam activating when logging into PureCloud

    Hello,

    We've had a few users including myself notice that in when you login to PureCloud it seems to be activating your webcam.  This started a few days ago and is occurring on multiple orgs.  We're raising a case with Care but I wanted to see if others were affected.  This is causing privacy concerns for users.

    We have noticed this as well.  We have had to block access to the camera in the Genesys Cloud browser to allow it to be used by other applications. As an anonymous hotline our agents have the same privacy and security concerns.

    We seen this for our Web RTC users ( a small handful) but did not have any reports of this with our PureCloud Softphone users.
    I haven't noticed this today so I wonder if its been resolved?

    I'm told by CC that there is/was an open internal dev ticket on this and that as a work around you can toggle the video chat icon.  Haven't had a report come in that I can try that with.

    This was fixed after an update before yesterday.

    As a workaround I blocked the access to my camera for three days, I have tested again and it is not happening anymore.

    This notification from the browser is a little bit confusing, I had to click on the Manage button and allow the microphone to use WebRTC.
