  • 1.  Inbound Calls from a SIP Provider in NON E.164 format

    Posted 05-25-2020 10:31
    Hello,

    i' m trying to receive an inbound call from a SIP provider that send a request uri like this

    INVITE sip:5664356@192.168.1.237:5061;transport=udp SIP/2.0

    Purecloud answer with a 404 Not Found because the number doesn't match a valid DID number.

    In the DID numbers i can only add e.164 numbers to route calls.
    How can i solve this problem?
    I have seen that there is a regular expression tranformation settings in the trunk configuration  but i think that is only for outbund calls and not for inbound calls.

    i will appreciate an advice on this.
    thanks
    Francesco

    If you have dashes, this will extract:
    \d?\s?-?\(?(\d)[1-9]{3}\)?\s?-?(\d){3}\s?-?(\d){4}

    If no dashes, then this works:
    [1-9]{3}[0-9]{7}

    You will put this in the substitution:
    +1$&

    I love http://www.regexr.com for stuff like this.

    Hi Robert, thanks for the answer.
    Where i have tu put the regular expression? Do you mean in the trunk settings of purecloud?  Can you indicate to me the right place?
    I'm talking about of inbound calls not outbound.
    Thanks again!

    @Francesco Mazzeo did that solution actually work? The regular expressions Robert gave you seem to presume North American Numbering Plan with a 10-digit inbound number, not what you showed in your example. â€‹

    Hi George, i have seen that the regular expression didn't match but i haven't test it yet. My doubt was only if this rule works for inbound call because on help on line it talks only for outbound calls.

    I also have the same issue and it doesn't work. I believe it is only for outbound dialing. I cannot find any solution

    You should be able to use a Number Plan to manipulate the inbound number.  You can look at this previous discussion linked below. But a number plan can be used to manipulate an inbound dial string.
