Hey Everyone,
Today I had a few people ask some really great questions: When will Genesys Cloud CX hit 3000 members? Who won the race to 3k contest? Can I still submit a date?
If none of that makes sense, just know that the Genesys Cloud CX Community is VERY close to hitting 3k members and there was a contest to guess the date!
If you remember that premise, you may also remember that three weeks ago, we were only 20 members away from hitting the jackpot, crowning a winner, and everything that comes with it. But, a bug was afoot.
If you look at Genesys Cloud CX's member count today, we are around 30 members away from 3k. And you may have missed it, but we had a HUGE and unexpected backslide. So, what happened?
The short answer or (TL;DR) is: Houston, we have (had) a problem.
The long answer is pretty epic. So, without further adu:
A change was made!
This change unintentionally deactivated some community members' accounts on the site, forsaking them to the Dark Side (literally, they couldn't log in, we didn't know who was deactivated, it was bad).
The loss spanned the entire empire, but in this instance, it caused the Genesys Cloud CX's community members to drop from 2978ish members to around 2913ish - the historical record is not intact. The community is currently at 2970 members thanks to all of the members that are new or emailed us to get their accounts fixed! (Your patience and understanding has meant the galaxy to us.)
The contest was in peril. It was a time of deep unrest and incredibly busy inboxes.
But hope emerged!
We quickly realized that if anyone was deactivated by this event, all of the historical data for that profile is saved and can be restored. If you are affected, please follow the instructions on the page, and we can help.
Luckily, a hero from a not too distant zoom meeting emerged!
Roger the Brave and Patient! Has done a great job working on a solution and everyone should be automatically reactivated sometime this week. Thanks, Roger, for hitting lightspeed and trying to help.
What does this mean for the contest? Well, once those accounts are reactivated, I am 99.9% certain that we will have hit 3k members! In fact, I think we'll exceed that milestone by around 50 members (maybe more).
What does this mean for the contestants? As of right now, I think I will be giving out TWO prizes. I am going to use all of the tools at my disposal to see if I can pinpoint what date we would have hit 3k members so that a winner with historical accuracy and merit can be named.
Additionally, I think whoever guesses the ACTUAL date that we cross 3000 members deserves a prize, so whenever Roger's mission is complete:
You all have incredible odds of winning the first prize from the Prize Wall.
