Disconnect persistent connections for Polycom phones

We are running into some issues with Polycom phone registrations when and Edge is taken out of service. The phones already have both servers configured and are registered to both, but when you take an Edge out of service, it tries to update the configuration instead of just using the secondary registration. When it does so, it seems we have to reboot the phones, or at least some of them.

One of the other things I'm concerned with is persistent connections. If a persistent connection is active, and an edge goes down or is taken out of service, I would think the persistent connection should end. For the latter, that is not the case (not sure on the former). This does not occur when calls are drained. How are phones supposed to reconnect when they have an active call.

There should be, and maybe there is, a way to view and/or disconnect persistent connections, from the API or otherwise.

Does anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Daniel McLeod
