  • 1.  Dial 4 digit numbers from Purecloud ?

    Posted 12-04-2019 12:06
    Hi all,

Our customer has linked their Purecloud system with Cisco pbx, he want that the users from Purecloud be able to dial 4 digit numbers in order to call extensions on the other pbx

My question: is it possible in Purecloud to dial 4-digits number and then do adaptation (in Purecloud) to be E164 format ?

For example: Purecloud user dial number like 1234, then, this number be converted automatically to 0987651234 and routed to the Cisco PBX

    Thank you in advance.

Yes. Use the Regular Expression type in the Number Plan to recognize and convert the desired 4-digit numbers. Put it above the Extensions entry in the Number Plan.

    Hi George,

    Thanks for your reply

Do you have the syntax to use for conversion in Regular Expression ?

    Thank you in advance.

That completely depends on the numbers you want to use.

I usually consult an online RegEx building tool or tutorial, such as https://www.freeformatter.com/java-regex-tester.html which has various number formats further down the page.

Hi, This documentation is not exactly on point, but seemed close enough to possibly helpful. Thanks https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/regular-expression-match-and-replace-examples-for-external-trunk-number-transformation/

I have found it best to just add steering digits to the numbers in the PureCloud dial plan the use the Cisco Voice Peer to look for and strip the digits.  PureCloud likes to use E.164 everywhere,  so sending the full 10 digits with a prefix is easier.   Remember to account for international dialing if you pass through the Cisco as it will expect 011, but PureCloud sends +Country.
