  • 1.  Genesys Cloud Edge Warranty

    The technical specification for Genesys Cloud Edge devices show Warranty as "3-year Advanced Product Replacement".

    Is this the same as "Advanced Warranty Replacement" listed in the HARDWARE WARRANTY AND SUPPORT GUIDE?

    Does Genesys offer service to extend this warranty period?

    To check the warranty end date you have to send you serial number to the logistics e-mail in that document.

    Genesys does not offer warranty extensions for Edge devices.

    Is the general assumption that after the 3 year warranty ends, these devices will be replaced or is there an alternative to Genesys support for the device?

    I think that many people will move to BYOC with virtual edges in the cloud.

    Paulo, yes I agree that's probably one of the key reasons why Genesys wasn't interested in supporting VMWare for Virtual Edges and has also stopped reselling the hardware.  Although it is good that we're now able to at least look at other hardware options for those physical Edges.

    For us down here it would be great if AWS put some serious thought into creating an NZ region.  Those of us with BYOC Cloud had a much easier time leading up to the CIDR change happening this weekend than the on-premise deployments.

    Do you think there'll be much interest still in physical on premise Edges from a DR perspective?

    Hi John
    The expectation is that after 3 years you replace the Edge.
    The options are now
    Go Cloud Edge (with BYOC trunks)
    Go Physical Edge ( Genesys will be offering a Bring your own hardware Edge)
    or, we've heard that there is a hybrid model in the works (Cloud and Premise) that may help if you need local DR
