  • 1.  "Pet ID database" Lesson 3. Where is it?

    Posted 01-17-2022 04:10

    Hi,

I've just taken over an Genesys Pure-cloud instance and thought I would slowly work through the Get Started With Architect Tutorial to get my feet wet a bit. Lesson 3: Create reusable tasks for lost and found pets has a requirement to add a Data Call to the Pet ID database.

"Click the arrow at the end of the Data Action list and select the data action that contains the Pet ID database."

But I don't have this in my org. Is there something (obvious) I'm missing?

Data Actions are REST-based calls to web services like a database lookup that allow Architect to interact with other web services for data retrieval, input/output operations, and other integrations that are not native to Genesys Cloud.  You will need a new integration and Data Action linked to your own database.  For more information, see here:  https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/about-web-services-data-actions-integration and here:  https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/how-the-data-actions-integration-works

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply. I guess that given I was following along a Genesys provided Tutorial I expected these kind of resources to be provided in some manner in order to achieve a fully working Call Flow. As the "Beginners Guide", developing a REST api might be a little advanced(!).

I guess I've learnt something by completing the tutorial but it would have been nice to be able to test and use the Flow as a real world example. I  expected the required integration to be provided in some way

    Thanks again for your reply

    Cheers

    Sandy
