  • 1.  Options for 1 DID that supports both Voice and SMS

    Hi there,

    We have a client that is very interested in moving over to Purecloud. The only big issue is that they currently have 1 phone number that customers can either call or text to contact them. We were originally told that this would be supported by Purecloud, but after some back and forth were told this wasn't the case. I just wanted to check with the powers that be (In George We Trust) to see if they can think of any workarounds. 

    We really would like to avoid existing customers sending a SMS message and it going into a black hole.

    SMS and Voice on the same number is on the books, but not on the release road map yet. @Katie Ritz might be able to comment on it.​

    Thanks George. Can you think of any potential workarounds to avoid a SMS blackhole if they ported the number over to Genesys?

    @George Ganahl so you had indicated this was on the books a couple of years ago.  I was digging and not finding any update or anything new on this (DID and SMS on single DID).  You happen to have any updated insight on if it's coming down the road?  Thanks!​

    Brandon just as a FYI we were able to work with Katie and she helped us enable SMS on the same Voice DID. The process may be even easier now I'm not sure

    Hi Matthew,

    At the time we worked with Katie Ritz and she was able to walk us through the process. I'm not sure if this process has changed, but try to reach out to her first and I'm sure she can point you in the right direction.
