You have described it well. All I would say is that you need to use the Web Services Data Action integration (because the Web Services Data Dip connector is being deprecated by end of this year), which means you will have to have a web service front-end for the internal database that is exposed to the internet (all PureCloud communications are encrypted and secure).
So, create your Custom Actions to be used in Architect for verifying the IVR entries plus the Custom Action to write the final info to the database, and put it all together in a Task in an Inbound Call flow.

Subject: IVR Self-Service Phone Order
Hi,
We want to implement a self service call flow where the caller can enter 3 key pieces of information in order to place an order. We are looking through the API documentation, bridge and data action information, but need assistance on how best to approach this.
In the call flow we will collect the 1st piece of information and make a call via API to verify the information. If the data is valid it will proceed to the 2nd piece of information. We will repeat this until all 3 pieces of information have been validated. At this point we need to collect this data and send back via API to an internal database.
Does anyone have experience performing this? any feedback/recommendations?
Thank you
Raul
