  • 1.  Multiple To: Addresses In Emails From Customers

    Posted 03-13-2013 17:07
We are looking at a solution where we get emails with multiple To: addresses that are hitting multiple queues and individuals from our customers. We are trying to identify and strip these multiple addresses before hitting CIC. Obviously, once these duplicates hit Exchange and queue mailboxes, little can be done without allot of CIC processing. We have an email firewall and it has rule based routing but the rules are not robust enough to work well. Any thoughts to what you other CIC shops have looked at or tried if you have attempted to filtter before CIC?. We have too many customers and with up to 23,000 inbound emails a day, retraining out customers is not going to work. Thanks Guy DigiKey

How about using a monitored mailbox and suck it into a handler that parses the email addresses and forwards back out to the correct boxes or workgroups

Not a bad idea. If I can configure our email firewall with one rule to forward multiple To: addresses emails to one mailbox, I can easily parse through the addresses and avoid duplicates! Thanks Robert! Guy DigiKey
