  • 1.  ICBM Session Managers view - what's in the square brackets?

    Posted 07-28-2019 21:10
    Hi All,

I've noticed that the Session Managers view in ICBM, next to the Session Manager connect, there is a number value listed in square brackets (e.g. [90] in my example below)

Does anyone know what this value means? I've checked the help documentation, but there doesn't appear to be an explanation.

    Cheers,
    Jeff.

    Jeff,

I believe these are connection identifiers. I remember seeing them in either the session manager log or the notifier log on the CIC Server. To the best of my knowledge they don't mean anything and if you shut down the OSSM and bring it up again chances are it will have a different number in the brackets. I assume one of the support or development people thought it would be useful to provide that info in the view for troubleshooting.

    Thanks,

    Hi All,

The Session Manager ID is created on Install and remains with it until its uninstalled/decommissioned from IA  The ID persists even on upgrades.

If you use EnhancedChangeLogging and LoginLogout Reporting/SQL Tables its very useful for troubleshooting.

We have also found this useful when using IWP/Marquee to monitor Application Sessions on each Session Manager.
