  • 1.  weird incoming call behavior

    Posted 08-21-2019 11:44
Since yesterday, I have call reps reporting calls coming in multiple times with the same phone number and being unable to answer the call(s).  The person is able to leave a voicemail.  It is intermittent and not every caller.

An example: (5 calls from the same number over the span of 6 seconds)

    1 (831) ***-**** 8/20/19 3:32 PM 271 0 272 15:32:18: Initializing15:32:18: Offering15:32:19:

Any clue what is happening?  Telco carrier issue?  Gathering call ids to submit a ticket but figured I'd post in here while I get those.

    Thomas,

If each call is a different call ID then usually this indicates each one is a different call coming into CIC. You could check your gateway or SBC log to see if you see 5 unique calls coming in from the carrier. Stuff like this is usually something in the carrier network or perhaps some sort of dialer application running against your phone number spinning up a call every second. Have you tried googling the phone number to see who owns it?

    Thanks,

I have had similar, auto-dialling from a computer, getting multiple calls from same number. Once had several thousand overnight from an Eastern European number, on every ddi we owned. Clearly auto-dialler, trying to get a modem connection to hack :)
