We ran into the send quota limitations because for the longest time we were able to use the same notification email address for both of our production environments. We don't do a lot of email volume and most of what are sent are supervisor alerts, voicemail notifications, etc. To mitigate this, we did the following:
- Assigned a unique default email address for each of our environments.
- Changed all of our "notifications" from handlers (web service failures, process exceptions, etc) to run an external powershell script to send email notifications rather than sending them directly from IC. This allows us to use our relay server and bypass a lot of the quota issues, and I've found it to be more responsive and reliable, anyhow.
I had really hoped that Genesys was going to modify this at some point to allow us to use a relay server for all sending functions, but with the InfoSys change, that doesn't really seem likely.
