  • 1.  NT Domain User Account List Only Partial

    Posted 07-23-2019 17:01
Has anyone run into when adding a user where you browse out to your domain to add username and when you hit the Get Users button it only populates a partial list from Active Directory? We ran the logs through support and determined it isn't anything Genesys is causing. Nothing really jumping out at us as to what would cause it to only return about 15 percent of the users. Cant add anyone whos username starts with anything higher than c.

    Hi Alex,

We ran into something very similar recently. We worked with support and determined the issue was related to a recent Windows patch on our DC's. Believe the offending roll-up was KB4507459 and/or KB4507460. It may be something worth checking into.

    Thanks,
    Shane

Hi, have the same issue pulling domain users when trying to set up a new user in IAdmin.  The call is limited to exactly 100 users.

KB4507459 is definitely our issue. It was applied to both our CIC servers and our DCs.  Uninstalled from the CIC servers and the issue remains, so yes it's affecting the DC responses.

As of yesterday 8/7 it looks like the known issues for the patch have been updated by Microsoft (last entry):

Applications and scripts that call the NetQueryDisplayInformation API or the WinNT provider equivalent may fail to return results after the first page of data, often 50 or 100 entries. When requesting additional pages you may receive the error, "1359: an internal error occurred." We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
We've also found (unsurprisingly) that CIC is not the only application in the organization affected by this patch.

    Thanks,
    John
