how do you log out an agent that forgot to log out from the client? anyway to do this in supervisor? reboot their pc? i think you can call and do it through the default attendant - but any other way?

You could deactivate and reactivate their station, this will force the client to log out.

I think most people do it with a Timer-based custom handler that runs at a specified time each day and logs out people who forgot to log out.

    Hi George,
Can you provide me with a link to resource material that explains how to create one of these (timer-based custom handler to log out agents).
Thank you so much in advance!

This is a post from 2010.  To go back to the original request, the functionality to remotely force logoff an agent has been added into IC Business manager and the access to do so is granted in Security Rights in Interaction Administrator.

In regards to your question about using a handler, you would use the timer initiator:  https://help.genesys.com/cic/mergedprojects/wh_id/desktop/hid_timer_initiator.htm

And use whatever logic you initiate to parse whatever list of agents you want to check and then use the agent log off toolstep to log off agents that match your criteria:  https://help.genesys.com/cic/mergedprojects/wh_id/desktop/hid_agent_log_out.htm

I developed a handler to do that about 10 years ago. But for some reason, it quit working. The logoff tool step didn't do anything.

I created a handler several years ago that looks at the agent's status and, depending on the status, logs them out if they are logged in.  Just tested with 2020 R1 so it seems to still work.

    Hi Steve,

That's awesome! We're trying to create one here – still in early stages. Will come back to this forum with any questions if I run into any issues.

We are hoping to also use agents' status to determine if the agent needs to be logged out also (using logic).

    Thanks!

    Steve wins again!  :-)

It's not the most dynamic way to go about this, but assuming you are running 2017 R3 or later, you can give Supervisors the Force User Logout security right.  This would allow users with that right to log off other users by using the Workgroup Details or Workgroup Directory views using ICBM.

More information can be found in the Release Notes, and the Resource Center.

    Thanks!

Yes! We currently use that method now – Supervisor and manual log out.

    Thank you,
