It makes no sense. The agents do not have those two permissions and they can still see the admin tab and it is empty. Agents having a tab that is empty looks like a bug and not a new phenomenon specially that this was not announced in the new release.

Update from Support below. Granted, I don't understand how [after internal Genesys testing of non-admin roles] the exposure of an Admin tab (or let's just say a change to the expected non-admin experience or "new phenomenon") wasn't announced ahead of time as a heads up. Time to hunt down the exact permission agents have that [now] allow them to see the Admin view (which, for the record, the two permissions Support lists below the agents don't have).
We have received confirmation that the Admin tab shows up if a user has a permission that grants them access to at least one link on the view.
The link requires either routing:skill:manage or routing:skill:view.
These permissions are used to access public api functionality and are also used to gate access to UI features.
Frequently, the same endpoint is used in multiple views so you end up with a situation where to get access to one feature you have to give the user access to multiple UI features.
With all that said, seeing the Admin tab is a new phenomenon, and not a bug, of having these different view permission.

I was looking over the Release Notes for July 22, 2024, but I don't see anything that should have affected any permissions / added the Admin tab to agents without elevated permissions. I'm doing some internal checks to see if I can find what changed. If anyone has opened a case with Customer Care, please let me know the case number and I can check on that as well.
I will let you all know if I'm able to find some info on this.

As far as I am aware, it appeared for all of our agents as of 23 July. Most agents use the desktop app, but we have checked it using a browser and receive the same result.
I have viewed screen recordings from 22 July and earlier and it's not there, but on recordings from the start of our workday on 23rd July it is there.
To the best of my knowledge, no changes have been made to the agent role permissions recently.

That certainly does sound odd. Is this happening on all agents stations or just a select few? Does it persist after you clear your browser's cache? I'm wondering if some view permissions may have been changed.

Had anyone else experienced an issue with Admin appearing in the top line menu in the standard agent view?
It wasn't there at end of play yesterday - 20:30 BST 22 July 2024, but it has been present 08:30 this morning.
Clicking on it loads a blank page with no options, so it's not a problem, but it's different and new.
