  • 1.  Assistance Needed: Clear Button Functionality Issue in Genesys Cloud Cx Script

    Hello everyone - I'm working on a script in Genesys Cloud Cx. I've created a button named 'Clear'. However, when agents click it, the inputs they've entered in the script are not being cleared. I'd appreciate some assistance with this in the Genesys community. Thank you!

    What action have you associated with the button? 

    I would create a Custom Action that assigns empty values to all of the variables associated with the inputs. (Of course, if it's only one input, the Custom Action isn't needed, you can just assign the value directly.

    Hi Paul - Thank you for answering my query. I've uploaded the test script we created. I'm encountering an issue where agents are unable to clear the values they've updated in the questions, specifically with radio buttons, checkboxes, and numeric fields, when they click the clear button.

    I kindly request your assistance in configuring the clear button correctly to ensure it resets these values as expected.

    You mentioned uploading a test script, but I don't see it here, so can't grab it and take a look....

    What values are you assigning to clear the variable (and the input)?

    Check Boxes are associated with a Boolean, so if you want it un-checked, you need to assign "False". Radio Buttons are associated with a String, so setting the value to "" should work. Numbers, I'd just set to zero.

    Hi Paul - I tried to upload the script but it was unsupported, so unable to upload it. However I have taken screenshot of the Click button configuration & I have uploaded that now.

    OK, I can see the problem here.

    "Input Variables" are not variables that get Input from the Agent, they are Inputs to the Script from outside (usually Architect). 

    What you need to do is:

    1. Select the triangle icon (looks a bit like a "play" button) on the Top-Right of the Script editor window. This opens the Actions up and click "+" to create a new Custom Action.
    2. Give it a name, and then add a series of Scripter.Set Variable Actions, one for each of the variables you need to clear and explicitly set their values.
    3. Save the Custom Action.
    4. Have the button run this action.

    Let me know if that works for you. I will try to put together instructions with screenshots if you need them

    Hi Paul - It worked. Created a new Custom Action and given a name. Then added multiple steps and assigned the variables created for each step. Many thanks for your support.
