    Hello all,

We are facing on requirement from customer not to add cic and media server to their domain. System CIC will be installed-hosted in „private cloud" (not PuceCloud). And customer will connect through MPLS connection to it .

Read CIC docu and there is note that CIC server can be „standalone", the same is for Media server as written bellow.

    Meanwhile, suggested configuration is:

In mentioned „private cloud" there will be two standalone hosts.

Private Cloud (CIC and Media hosts) <----- MPLS ---> Customer's LAN (Agent's PC, Supervisor's PC etc.)

    CIC server Host:

    • Local administrator for CIC Server
    • IP1
    • Hostname: CIC

    Media Server Host:

    • Local Administrator for Media Server
    • IP2
    • Hostname: Media

What do you think, about client apps like Softphone, ICBM, Interaction Administrator, is there risk that clients apps can have problem connect to and communicate with CIC?

Did anyone encountered for such requirement not to add CIC system to customer's domain?

Is „Domain", "CIC domain administrator account", necessary requirement for correct function of whole CIC system and its cliets or not?

Or better to recommend them, to add CIC system to their domain and there will be no problem?

    Than you for explanation

    Best regards

    Pavel

We had a similar requirement for an implementation. We were able to run the system successfully by using only local accounts on the CIC and media servers. We did not use SIP soft phone but did use desktop client, SIP Phone and Supervisor. Make sure the local username and password are identical on both CIC server and create a CIC account with Master Administrator rights linked to the local administrator account for each server.

Has the Domain requirement been removed? We had to add a domain, and create the domain admin accounts to install the CIC and Media software.

It seems to depend on how you want to handle user accounts from my understanding.  If you don't have it on a domain, you can set up the user name and password in IA, and use that, but I don't think there is any way for the user to change it, so there is an increased security risk.  When logging in to Interaction Desktop, they don't check the use windows login box, and use the information that was set up in IA.

I do not see a problem with this setup. As long as your "Customer LAN" can look up and communicate the CIC & Media Servers it should work. Just set up the host file of your client machines if you are not configuring DNS within the MPLS Network.
