Summary
Genesys Cloud is deprecating the enforcePermissions field in the UserSearchRequest object used by the user search APIs listed below.
The enforcePermissions field was previously used to determine whether user search results should be filtered based on the permissions of the requesting user.
This behavior is being replaced by an organization-level Search setting. Moving this configuration to the organization level provides a consistent permission-enforcement model across user search requests rather than allowing the behavior to be controlled on individual requests.
Effective Date
Monday, September 28, 2026
Details
The enforcePermissions request-level field is being replaced by the useDivisionedPermissions organization setting within Search settings.
Once the new organization-level behavior is enabled, the value supplied in enforcePermissions will no longer affect search behavior.
Customer Impact
The enforcePermissions field will be marked as deprecated.
When the new organization-level setting takes effect:
- The value provided in
enforcePermissions will be ignored. - The
useDivisionedPermissions Search setting will determine whether search results are restricted based on the divisions for which the requesting user has the required permissions. - Applications that currently set enforcePermissions should no longer rely on the field to control permission filtering for individual requests.
Customers should review integrations that use enforcePermissions and account for the organization-level permission behavior.
