Digital Interaction Spell Check

    My agents recently commented that the automatic spell check feature for digital interactions is no longer there. They use the desktop app, but I ran a quick test and encountered this in both the desktop app and browser. I scanned through various admin pages (Email, Queues, Organization Settings) to see if there is a new setting that needs to be enabled for this but didn't find anything there, and don't recall seeing anything in release notes. I'm trying to find out when they first noticed this change. Seems unlikely that this would be an intentional change - wondering if others have encountered this or have any insight?

    There was in issue with the spelling plug-in and will be fixed next week

    So, I have Windows 11 and Chrome and enabled Editor.  When I use Email, it looks fine:

    I am not sure how to revert back to original spell check and I tested with Grammarly and got the same thing.

    Hi Robert,

    We use the Genesys desktop app rather than the browser.  In the browser the spellcheck is working, but in the desktop app (2.38.792.0) mis-spelled words are underlined but it comes up with 'No spelling suggestions' when you right click on them.

    We just did an upgrade on Purecloud and the Spell Check is not working and it says no spellings found.

    We also experienced this when upgrading the desktop client to version to 2.38.792 from 2.37.781. Misspelled words still underline in red but when you right click on those words there are no suggestions for possible correct word replacements.

    @Kelly Fitzgerald - I got your message regarding this post but for the life of me cannot figure out to reply directly to it... so trying this instead.

    We're not using any extra/subscription type plugin - just whatever is native to the system itself.

    We're also having this problem - incorrectly spelled words are underlined in red, but when right clicking there are no spelling suggestions, but there is the option to add to dictionary - see screen shot below:

    Hi,

    Our service partner has been in contact with Genesys and been advised that they are aware of the issue and are working on it - 

    'The cause of this behaviour is that version 2.38.792.0 required a change in the Chromium Embedded Framework that the GC desktop app uses. As a result, the spellcheck feature on Windows was affected.'

    They also said that they are targeting to deliver the fix within 2 weeks.

    Our experience is that the issue only occurs in the app, but if using a browser (Chrome / Edge) it is working normally - provided the browser is set with the correct language pack and spell check enabled.

    I have located the internal ticket and development ticket related to this. As of today 10/14 it looks like this feature is still being worked on under development. I will be keeping an eye on this and will post any updates here.

    Hello Neil, 

    If you have a support case open then you can escalate there. 

    This request is already been escalated several times and the dev team is working on developing a fix currently. It seems the issue is with the underlying Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF). Which is going to take awhile for the fix.

    Not sure what version of the desktop app is being used, but if you can down load 2.37.781 (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://apps.mypurecloud.com/directory-windows/2.37.781/__;!!L0kaqaU-LQ!dmYmlfdQVPZ8_aiunsQ3kCHaiN476qac0agP91_ZWoseCW1IUybNtL8luhc7piciNkbIn-KUQTGlLqR55A$) then spell check works for email interactions.

    We upgraded the app version today and we're seeing this issue too.

    Is the fix, whenever it is available, going to require an application version update again too? I.e. We will have to repeat the packaging process?

    We have had this issue reported today as well. It begs the question as this issue has been around for a while that nothing in release notes mention this issue (that I can see) is in the latest versions. If that had been communicated, we (and other customers) may have delayed packaging a new version.

    In saying that we also would be keen to understand when its likely to be fixed. This will allow us to decide on a rollback strategy.

    We also received a complaint from the client, regarding web messaging interactions. They used Grammarly before and it looks like with the new UI update it is not working anymore. Is there any other solution or ETA date to fix this?

    The spell check is now fixed with the 2.40.811 user client update that was made available yesterday. I already installed and tested it.

    Please see John Greer, latest update. The spell check is now fixed with the 2.40.811. Please update your user client. If that still doesnt resolve the issue please let Customer Care know immediately so they can start looking into it.
