  • 1.  Free Chrome extension: split Custom Attributes from the Interactions CSV export into columns

    Posted 7 days ago

Hi everyone! When you export the Interactions view (Performance > Workspace > Interactions) with "Include Custom Attributes", all custom attributes / participant data come in one single column, which makes it hard to analyze in Excel. So I built a free Chrome extension, Genesys Attributes Splitter: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/nopolhjdckomfjdbjppbhjelbmlcfkch

How it works: 1) export the Interactions CSV with Include Custom Attributes checked; 2) click the extension icon; 3) drag the CSV in and click Process; 4) download the new CSV, where each attribute becomes its own column on the same row as the interaction.

Everything runs locally in your browser: the file is not uploaded anywhere, and the extension doesn't access your Genesys Cloud account. Note: attributes only show up in the export after the nightly pipeline (~24h) and require the Reporting > Custom Participant Attributes > View permission. Not an official Genesys product.

I'd love your feedback and ideas for improvements!

Vinicius Silva  This looks useful having each custom attribute in its own column should make the export much easier to work with in Excel. Thanks for building and sharing it, and for explaining how the data is handled. I'll give it a try!

    Hi @Vinicius Silva,

It's a great help to those who are in a role where they have to face such issues. It will definitely help them to fight against their nightmare. Hope you can also create such an extension which work for the Microsoft edge as well.

    Hi @Raj sahu,

Good news, it actually works in Microsoft Edge as well!

I have tested it in Edge and was able to process the exported Interactions CSV without any issues.

Thanks for sharing this with the community!

I gave it a try and thought I'd share my experience for others. My first attempt returned "Attributes column not found", but that turned out to be user error rather than an issue with the extension. I hadn't selected Include Custom Attributes when exporting the Interactions report, so the required Participant Attributes Formatted column wasn't present in the CSV.

After exporting the report again with Include Custom Attributes enabled and using data that had already gone through the nightly processing, the extension worked perfectly and made the data much easier to analyse in Excel.

Also, have you considered publishing the source code on GitHub? It would be a great learning resource for those interested in understanding the parsing logic and how the extension was built.
Great contribution and thanks again for sharing! 👏
