Headset Compatibility

  • 1.  Headset Compatibility

    Good morning everyone!
I have searched high and low but cannot find a list of which brands of headsets are compatible or recommended for use with Genesys Cloud.
Looking by specific brands tell me if that particular one is, but I often get asked for a list so a customer can go away and research the best one for their needs.

    Has anyone seen/found this?

    Cheers!

Jabra and Poly are listed on AppFoundry, but I have had great luck with Plantronics and Logitech headsets.   I have used both wired USB and Bluetooth successfully.

Hi Robert, We purchased Poly Voyager below and Call Control (answer a call by pressing a button on the headset) doesn't work on agents WebRTC,

We installed Genesys Cloud client and Plantronics Hub on agents PC.

    These are models.

    • Poly Voyager 4310 USB-C Bluetooth Headsets + BT700 Dongle
    • Poly Voyager 4320 USB-C Bluetooth Headsets + BT700 Dongle
    • Poly Voyager 5200 USB-A Bluetooth Headsets + BT700 Dongle

Any suggestions for recommended wireless headsets that provide Call Control?

    Hello Tahir,

Unfortunately we do not fully support the Polycom Voyager phone series. You can see the phones that we do support in the Managed phones: models and features matrix Resource Center article.

I would recommend voting and leaving a comment on this Idea in the Product Ideas Lab. If you vote on the Idea, you will be notified as the Idea changes statuses.

Polycom Voyager are not phones but Bluetooth headsets with USB transceiver. So they will not be listed in Managed phones.

Our client needs Wireless Headsets that are compatible with Genesys Cloud WebRTC, especially they need Call Control; press the button on the headset to answer incoming call. Which wireless headset is recommended by Genesys?

I'd be interested to know as well. We have BT600's and BT700's, and only the BT600's are working. I'm trying to troubleshoot what I can with the BT700's but I'm wondering if Genesys has tested headsets using those specific adapters before.

    Hello Nate and Tahir,

My apologies for the confusion. Unfortunately we do not have a recommended list of headsets to use with Genesys.

Could you please recommend a headset that is fully compatible with Genesys Cloud and includes hardware call controls-specifically, a dedicated button for answering and ending calls? This functionality is essential for our users, and we expect it to be a standard feature.

At our org, we use Jabra Evolve2's or Poly Voyager 4310's/4320's. If I had to recommend one, I'd recommend the Jabra Evolve2's over the Poly's any day. The Poly headsets are slightly nicer in my opinion, but they require additional software which isn't really easily available from HP. However, the software does "just work" (mostly), and our agents love them.

The Jabra headsets integrate directly with Genesys Cloud via WebUSB, so it's native and requires no additional software. With enterprise policy, you could very likely force-allow WebUSB for Jabra headsets as well, but I'm not for certain on that. In either case, once permission is granted (Genesys will ask users for permission when setting up the audio profile, otherwise you can click the "refresh" button next to the "Headset Software Not Running" message to force it) you can use the dedicated headset buttons to mute, unmute, answer, and hang up. Some support hold depending on the headset.

We tested Poly (HP) Voyager 4310 (4320) and installed Plantronics Hub with the mixed results.

(I found somewhere on Genesys website write up that they don't support new Poly Lens software).

Call Control availability was intermittent and range (bluetooth) wasnt that great.

We have better results with Jabra Engage 55:

     - Using Jabra Direct client

    • Jabra Link 400 (USB dongle)
      • DECT technology (Great range)
    • Jabra Engage 55 Headset

Once connected detected by PC, Call Control worked without issues.

I have a few customers using the Yealink WH63 headset.  They had to install the Yealink software on the user's computer and had to make a few configuration changes for it to work, but the call controls (pick up/disconnect) on the headset itself works.
