Here is how it works:
- Your customer will continue to pay for 50 full user licenses throughout the remainder of their contract period regardless of whether any users are designated as Hourly Interacting users
- In this extreme example where all 50 users are switched to Hourly Interacting users, your customer would be charged for the 50 committed Concurrent user licenses and they would be charged for all interacting hours incurred by those Hourly Interacting users
- Hourly Interacting users have no bearing on peak logged in users during the month. They are counted completely separately (interacting hours only)
- In real life, a full user license is a better choice for any user that will be interacting 50% of the time or more (50 hours/month). Customers should commit to the number of full licenses they need for all users that match that description. For any users interacting less than 50% of the time the Hourly Interacting model is more cost effective
- Admins can set new users to be either Full license or Hourly Interacting. They can also change existing users to be either user type at any time. Billing is determined by which user type the user is designated as on the final day of the billing period. They will be billed as that user type for the entire billing period and going forward until they are changed
- For new users, no Full license or Hours commitment is required. They can simply be set up as a Full license user or an Hourly Interacting user OR set up and given certain roles or permissions by the Admin that are only supported by one license type or the other. They will then begin to be counted for billing purposes
- To get the best price for Hourly Interacting users, customers must make a commitment of Interacting Hours. They will then qualify for the same discount they received on their full licenses. Any "overage" (non-committed) hours are charged at List price
- All Hourly Interacting hours are for the same license type (ex. GC3) as the full license type for the Org. As with full licenses, Hourly Interacting licenses cannot mix license type
- Interacting Hours from all Hourly Interacting users are pooled first, then rounded up to the nearest hour and billed. Genesys does NOT round up at the individual user level then pool and bill. This gives our customers true usage-based billing

Subject: Hourly Interacting Model
I do not understand the hourly interacting model, specifically how it works "alongside your general Concurrent subscription"
For example, if our organization currently uses CX3 licensing for agents and we have committed to 50 users. If we switched these users over to the hourly interacting model would we still be responsible to pay the regular monthly price for the 50 CX3 licenses, as part of our pre paid agreement? Or could those 50 agents + any agents that exceed the 50 committed users be billed as hourly users? Is the hourly interacting model still then based on the peak logged in users for the month, or would all interacting for users be billed on the hourly rate, regardless of peak usage of concurrent users logged in?
