  • 1.  How can I disable the "What's on your mind?" field?

    When a user is looking at their profile in Cloud CX, there's that "What's on your mind?" field that allows them to type whatever they want in there to be displayed along with their name throughout the system. How can I lock or remove that?

    I was so hopeful that the attribute-based access controls would do it. Although that field appears in the middle of all of the profile info, it doesn't appear to be one of the standard profile fields, so I don't know the name of it or whether I can lock it down if I did know the name.

    How is everyone else dealing with this? Did you figure out how to lock it down? If not, did you figure out how to look at all the values across the system to watch for anything inappropriate?

    Hello Dave,

    At this time there isn't a way to disable the text box within a user's profile nor is there a permission associated with just the text box. If you want to make an enhancement request for Genesys Cloud, Genesys encourages you to register your request through the Product Ideas Lab.

    To Access the Product Ideas Lab and add your idea:

    1. Sign in to the Genesys Knowledge Network.
    2. On the Product Ideas Lab section, click Browse and Submit Ideas.
    3. From the Product Ideas Lab, click Add a Product Idea.

    You can also view and vote for existing ideas.

    I was also asked to disable this, but because it is causing issues with agent availability.  When an agent goes on queue, you can see the on-queue counter start counting.  Now if you put something in the "Whats on your mind" section and hit enter....this timer gets reset!  Now as agents get word of this, we have them gaming the system to avoid answering calls.

    This is no longer leaves this in a 'feature request' state, but a problem state that I will drive with support - but any quick thoughts on this?

    Hello Jason,

    At this time, there is no way to disable that field. I did find this Idea that is marked as Future Consideration in the Product Ideas Lab. I would recommend voting on that Idea and leaving a comment so that you can be notified of any changes to the Ideas status.
