Subject: How to keep the Machine ID while moving a VM to another VMWare host
Hi Guchan,
These steps are for the MAC address, right? We already matched the MAC address of the VM, so that part is covered.
Our challenge is to match the CPU ID of a VM. Do you know how to change a CPU ID of a VM?
Thanks

Hi Igor,
I did it several times. Steps :
1- Shutdown the server
2- Edit - VM Options - Advanced - Edit Configuration
3- Add parameter - ethernet0.checkMACAddress=false
4- Ok and Save
5- Edit again
6- Go to "network adapter" and Change "MAC Address" Automatic to Manual
7- Write the new mac address (it should start with 00:)
Let me know if it does not work so I can make Teamviewer and we can do it together.
Regards,
Guchan

Hi Igor,
You are right, it is using CPU info for first 2 characters of the ID and rest is mac address.
If problem is just first 2 characters, you can do nothing on that new VM server. If you are lucky, first 2 characters matches and you can edit the MAC of that VM.

Hi folks,
We have a PureConnect system hosted on prem on our VMWare infrastructure. We deployed a new set of VMWare hosts, and now need to move the PureConnect VMs there. We started with a Media Server. We made sure the MAC address and UUID of the VM remained unchanged during the move. However the VM got a new Machine ID in PureConnect Media Server, hence requires a new license. We want to avoid obtaining a new license from Genesys, considering the approaching EoL of PureConnect.
Any ideas how to keep the PureConnect Machine ID while moving a VM to another VMWare host ?
It appears the PureConnect Machine ID depends not only on the MAC address and UUID, but something else as well.
Thanks
