  • 1.  Integration with Two-Way Radio Console Software Application - Avtec Scout (Radio System)

    Hello Genesys Cloud Community, need some help in case you might've had a similar need: To integrate with an Two Way Radio Console software, specifically on how to allow an Agent to be able to mute the audio either from Genesys Cloud (Active Call) or from the Two-Way Radio communication dispatch being heard (within same headset) as their users group sends a broadcast dispatch.

    Have you incorporated some sort of Audio Interface to enable the ability to Mute either audio source?

    A quick search within GC API's didn't produce one tied to this type of integration.

    I haven't heard of anything like this being done and cant think of any integrations off the top of my head. But we have hundreds of apps in our appfoundry

    @George Ganahl can you think of anything for this specific need?

    My off-the-cuff thought is to take advantage of the functionality built into Windows 10 and above which allows you to mute specific running applications by right-clicking the sound icon in the systray and opening the Volume Mixer settings...

    One option would be to build and iframe an Interaction Widget to the right hand widgets panel while the agent is handling the call: https://developer.genesys.cloud/platform/integrations/client-apps/.  The widget could display two-way radio control buttons to allow the agent to mute to radio, or any other control that the agent may need. As George suggested, you obviously could use the Windows sound system to mute that audio, but an Interaction Widget could just make it easier and faster to do so right from within Genesys Cloud.
