    Hi David,

The Sign up form mentions it also provides the UI, so not just the a wrapper around the APIs. Is that right? And is it the same UI as the Web Messenger widget, or is there some differences? Can you share some screenshots if available?

    Hi Anton,

Correct, the Mobile Messenger SDK has User Interface. The UI is not the same as the web, but similarly modern by providing native experience.

Just want to confirm this is for Web Messaging only, not available for open messaging correct?

    Hi David,

Would you have a similar graph for what is supported for mobile messenger ?

    https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/channel-bot-and-touchpoint-capabilities-feature-comparison/

Its not really clear on what is and isnt supported on the web page - https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/messenger-mobile-sdk/

or if there is maybe a feature comparison with web messenger along with expected timelines for releases on each feature in beta?

    Thanks

    Hi Kerri,

We are preparing the comparison article for the Help Center.

For the time being, you can check this comparison matrix:

The second table is purely for comparison. Does not indicate any prioritization or commitments for feature delivery.

    Hi David,

With the second screenshot having authenticated messaging as a roadmap item. Does this mean we can't do authenticated messaging at all for mobile app (outside of open messaging?)

Figured I could answer this one - The Transport SDK allows for Authenticated messaging, which will work in a mobile implementation.

If I am using the mobile messaging SDK for the UI, can I then also use the Transport SDK for the authentication?

    Hi Anton,

You can't integrate the Transport and the Mobile Messenger parallel to your application.

    Thanks David

So to confirm then. To use authenticated messaging in a mobile app, we either have to use open messaging, or Transport SDK, either way we would need our own UI built to use authenticated messaging in a mobile app? At least until the Mobile Messaging SDK roadmap item gets delivered.

Edit: Follow up question, how far down the line can we expect the Authenticated Messaging roadmapped feature for Mobile Messaging SDK to follow?

You are correct, Anton. Currently, the Transport SDK and open messaging are the available options.

We are planning to implement the Authenticated messaging feature in H1 next year in the Mobile Messenger SDK

    Hi David,

Hope you're keeping well. I see the last message in this thread is from end of April this year. Is this still in Beta? We've got a customer who needs this feature for their client, but I don't think they'd be willing to sign up for it if it's still in Beta. Any additional news? I see the Idea (DIG-I-13) is marked still as "In Development".

    Thanks,
    Stan

    Hi Stan,

We GA release the Mobile Messenger in September. Once we GA released, the corresponding idea will be marked as 'delivered'

The Quick Replies feature will be released in the upcoming days.

    Regards,

    David

Considering the short timeframe till GA, I'd recommend to start using the SDK.

    Hi David,

Thanks for the quick update, much appreciated. The customer is asking for links for their developers to set this up, and I've found couple, but not sure what exactly the devs team needs, could you help with that? I've found these URL's related to setup and SDK:

    https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/deploy-messenger/

    https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/mobile-messaging/messenger-mobile-sdk/

    https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/messengersdk/

    https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/messengersdk/SDKCommandsEvents/

Maybe they need all of the above, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks,

    Stan

    Hello,

Since Cards and Carrousels are currently not supported on the Mobile Messenger SDK version, in case we want to replicate the web message flow for mobile one, we can't use the already existing flow and digital bot flow, and would have to create separate flows that match what is supported currently?

Also, to confirm, data actions are supported in the latest version?

    Thank you!

    Hi Marija,

Correct. As long the Mobile Messenger SKD does not support Cards and Carousel in the bot flow, you can create a new flow (e.g. with Quick replies instead of Cards) for mobile. In this case, you have to create another messenger deployment as well, as only one flow can be linked to a messenger deployment.

Data actions are available in Mobile Messenger as those are mainly backend operations.

Thank you David. I do have a follow-up question regarding Genesys("command", "Database.set") that the client uses for the web messaging to Get Participant data in the flow from web page. Is it possible to do the same with mobile sdk? And do you have documentation on how to do it? Thank you!

On Mobile, we have Custom Attributes for similar use cases:

    Hi David,

I know that Messenger SDK has gone live but I wanted to check with you the steps to implement this. Just a basic overall steps so I can give the info to the client.

    This would be logic:
    1. create message flow
    2. create message config and deployment
    3. Follow the steps listed in https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/mobile-messaging/messenger-mobile-sdk/android/ or https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/mobile-messaging/messenger-mobile-sdk/ios
    Getting started page
    4. Follow steps for sending participant data listed in Custom Attributes page

Is there anything else I am missing from these steps, can you please let me know so I can advise the client.

    Thank you!
