  • 1.  Limit of 500 ACD Skills per Org

    Has anyone reached the 500 skills limit for an Org? Isnt this limit far too small for some of the larger call centres?

    Other interesting limit is the 10,000 queues. Seems like a lot but for large organisations this could easily be reached..

    thoughts?

    We had upwards of 700 skills for a while, where are you seeing the 500 limit? There is a limit of 500 on the Salesforce side if you are trying to do the sync of entities from Genesys to Salesforce, but that limitation is on the SF side.

    We have been told that 500 is going to be the new hard limit, no exception and our Genesys PS will not create 501 skills for us on the Org as they do not know what will happen.

    Does it stop you from going over 500 today? What has you up to so many skills, too? Is it skills per user for 'personal queue' style routing?

    @Matt Lawson can you track down someone from product to confirm the 500 limit, I cannot find it posted anywhere.

    I searched the Genesys Knowlege Network and read what others are saying, "Genesys Cloud does not limit the number of skills you can create in an organization, and you can assign up to 50 skills to a user." (article)

    I asked a friend and they provided the following image. Apparently there is an API limit: 

    They said you could ask your account rep if it is possible to increase the limit. They were not sure if that is possible, but said it doesn't hurt to ask.

    Some time ago, limits on the number of skills were increased.

    New default limit is 2000 skills per Org and it can be increased by request.

    I would be interested in seeing the skills you have.  In systems like incontact and Avaya, you had to combine skills into a routing skill.  With Genesys, we find that these can be reduced back to the original skill and used in queues.  For instance, in others, you would have to create two skills for English/VIP and Spanish/VIP.  In Genesys, you can have the 3 skills individually assigned and evaluated separately in the same queue and can be reported on by searching for interactions with them individually.  This gives more flexibility and mitigates the need for the combined skills which could increase exponentially
