    Hi Community,

we are excited to have released Per Minute Schedule Granularity.

The per-minute granularity setting enables Organisations with employee contracts that require 1-minute scheduled start times or durations to generate Work Plans and schedules that reflect this-reducing the need to manually adjust schedules generated using 5-minute increments for start times and durations.
Per-minute granularity enables you to change the work plan configurations to:
    • create shifts that require a start time that doesn't fall on a 5-minute increment
    • create shifts with a duration that is done to the minute, rather than the closest 5-minute increment.
    • create Work Plan Activities that require a start time that doesn't fall on a 5-minute increment
    • create Work Plan Activities with a duration that is done to the minute, rather than the closest 5-minute increment.

    Examples of Per Minute Scheduling:
    • Due to local public transportation employees require an 08:07 start time
    • Employees working a 38 hours per week contract over 5 days require
      • A shift length of 7:36
      • An 8:00 shift with an unpaid break of 24 minutes.

Per minute granularity is enabled within the Business Unit --> Schedule configuration, once enabled you can configure the Work Plans per Management unit to meet their local employee contracts/agreements.

Flexible Shifts, Activities and durations are still possible when per minute granularity is enabled. However, the flexibility will still respect 5-minute increments.

    For example:

A shift that has the earliest start time of 08:01 and the latest start time of 8:31 would have the possible start times of 08:01,08:06, 08:11,08:16,08:21, 08:26 and 08:31

You can find more information over at the Resource Center:

    and updated configuration documents:

    add a business unit

    add a work plan configuration

    set up shift activities

configure the work plans daily shifts

    Hi Paul,

I have just been trying to do 4 days of 7:36, so a weekly schedule requirement of 30:24 however this will not save and changes to 30:25. Is this a bug?

The rest of per minute granularity is working so well. Very impressed with it.

    Cheers, Chris

    Hi Chris,

thanks for the glowing review and I'm pleased that Per Minute Granularity is hitting the mark for you 😀
The weekly hours rounding to 5 minutes is not a bug, during our research the majority of users required per minute granularity due to their weekly hours not being easily divisible by 5 working days.
    For example:

    • 36:00  hours a week equates to  7:12 hours per day
    • 37:00  hours a week equates to   7:24 hours per day
    • 38:00  hours a week equates to   7:36 hours per day

providing that your shift lengths are correct rounding down to the nearest 5 minutes for your minimum Weekly hours (or rounding up to the nearest 5 minutes for the maximum weekly hours) the scheduler will create the correct schedules as multiples of the shift length will always be slightly higher than the minimum and less than the maximum hours per week.

    Paul
