My submission is my matte black, wired Logitech USB mouse.
I bought it for about twelve quid back in 2007 using cash from my very first retail job. For seven years, it survived stockrooms, home laptop use, and being tossed into the bottom of rucksacks.
When I finally made the jump from retail to an office job twelve years ago, I brought it in as a backup because the "standard-issue" company mouse felt cheap. Ten years ago, when I moved to my current employer, it came with me on day one and plugged straight into my new desk dock.
The matte finish has long since worn down to a shiny patch where my thumb sits, the brand logo vanished probably around 2015, and the rubber scroll wheel lost its texture years ago. People on my team regularly ask why I haven't swapped it for a sleek, wireless ergonomic mouse like everyone else.
My answer is always the same... it never drops a Bluetooth connection, it never runs out of battery, and the left-click switch has never once misfired in nineteen years. Wireless mice lag and die. This cheap bit of plastic has outlasted multiple work laptops, a career change, and a solid decade at my current desk.
Until the day it actually stops clicking, i'll be keeping it in my bag!
