Hey Paul,
Thanks for sharing. We definitely want suggestions for future events from our community members and we do our best to incorporate them. In fact that's why we started doing March Madness and Trivia to begin with. So I'm sure we can find a way to bring F1 into the fold, but if you don't join the competition, I will be a sad panda.
In terms of the banner, this is a brand new approach that I wanted to try and March Madness seemed like the perfect test event because
- I like supporting college athletics,
- It is a popular event, and
- The banner will only be there for three days max.
Don't worry, we have no intention of doing it for EVERY contest.
The motivation behind the banner is that a large portion of community members discover the site through Google or various search engines and what they land on when they visit the site is a discussion post, so they may not see the community home pages much less the wonderful Genesys Casual Community. This banner is our way of trying to get some new people to join the ummm...well Madness.
Cheers,
Matt

OK, so it's "Bah Humbug" time...
When considering these events, please remember that Genesys is a global company, albeit one based in the USA. Either go for ones with international appeal or include region specific one for other places. (And yes, I know you need suggestions!)
For example, "March Madness". Very American and perpetuates the view that American companies only care about American culture! I'm not saying don't do it, but a huge banner at the top of every post? Really? By all means announce these events on every Forum, but please try to keep them restricted to the one post. (I don't see, nor do I wish to, banners on every post advertising the competition to predict when a Forum will hit a membership milestone...)
Genesys Sponsors an F1 team, so if you have to do sport, how about something related to the Grand Prix season?
Sorry. Rant over. I'll shut up now.

Hey everyone,
Quick question. @Nicole Milliken and I are working on our events calendars for 2023 and want to know of any key dates, events, challenges, or other fun activities that we should consider including. Any suggestions more than welcome and someone who contributes will win a prize from the prize wall!
Please Tell Us
- Holidays that are important or fun (maybe give us an idea of why)
- Contest or Game Ideas
- Topics you would like to discuss
- Anything else on your mind that you would like to see in the community
Some events we did in 2022:
- March Madness Brackets
- Trivia
- Summer and Fall Events
- Major US Holidays
- Rock N Roll Hall of Fame
- Harry Potter
- Ask Me Anything Events (topics varied)
We'll leave this thread up until the end of November, so plenty of time to get your answers in and snag a prize before the end of the year.
Cheers,
Matt and Nicole
