  • 1.  Transfer to another user's voicemail

    We want to enable Transfer to Voicemail feature to allow our reception desk to transfer a non acd call directly to another user's voicemail. Per resource center,https://help.mypurecloud.com/faqs/can-i-transfer-a-non-acd-call-directly-to-a-users-voicemail/, to enable this feature, we have to give User > Voicemail > Transfer and Telephony > Plugin > All permissions. Telephony > Plugin > All permission will grant admin access to view and edit our org's telephony settings. Is there a workaround to make this feature work without giving full access to Telephony settings?

    granting telephony - plugin - all permission might be perceived as a security risk and not as per usual and business required minimal permissions granting approach. For breaking up the telephony permissions is an idea raised, takes long time to accommodate already. This topics should get more attention of responsible PMs

    We need to update https://help.mypurecloud.com/faqs/can-i-transfer-a-non-acd-call-directly-to-a-users-voicemail/

    Customers ONLY need user:voicemail:transfer permission. We have removed the need to use `Telephony > Plugin > All` to remove the security risk.

    Hi Vishwa,

    The feature does not work with just User:Voicemail:Transfer. User gets below error.

    After working with Genesys Support team in checking the console logs, it was determined that the Telephony:plugin:all has to be enabled. If we enable this permission, the feature works fine. However we can't give this level of access to our end users.
