    Hello everyone,
     
    We are happy to announce the BETA program for Step-up authentication for Web Messaging. (see corresponding DXWMM-I-17 Idea here)
    The feature allows End-Users to sign in and authenticate with the brand mid-way through the messaging conversation and continue the session.
    If you are interested, please sign up by filling out the form below visible also in Beta HQ homepage, we'd love to get your feedbacks!
    After we enable the feature for your org, we will reach out to you to confirm: this may take a few days.

    Hi Vaun,

    • Once the feature is available in your Org, this can be enabled in the Messenger Configuration in the Admin console.
    • In the Messenger widget header, the user will easily access the sign-in function but also can authenticate on the website.The sign-in event will be added to the transcript.

    Correct. 

    The session starts as a 'guest' session and the user can authenticate at any point during the conversation and stay in context.

    Hi Giuliano,

    Thanks for the subscription!  We are in the preparation phase.

    These are the BETA period target dates, also highlighted on the form header:

    • Beta Registration Period: Jun 27, 2024 - July 30, 2024
    • Beta Start Date: July 15, 2024 (subject to change) 
    • Beta End Date: Aug 15, 2024 (subject to change)

    The Start and End dates are most likely to shift with one or two weeks.

    Hi David,

    To confirm here: Is the authentication "step-up" able to be initiated while the customer is in conversation with the Bot? Or, does the customer have to be connected to an agent?

    The customer can sign in during the conversation regardless of whom is on the other side, Bot or Agent.

    The BETA target dates have changed!

    The dates are:

    We are publishing documentation in the Developer Center and Help Center in the upcoming days. 

    The release and the Beta enablement take some time considering the summer period.

    So it seems like you published documentation only to SDK level and not detailed APIs or flows how step-up process actually work ? Now as we are not using messanger or messanger SDK what do you have for us in terms of documentation? When customer logins to our brands web site what sort of a request we need to create and where should we send it?
