    Hi Trivia Players,

Post your answer to this question: What's the scariest movie you've ever watched and why and we'll award you three additional bonus points for the Not-So-Scary Trivia Tower event!

    I'll go first:
I have loved watching horror movies ever since I was a little kid, but the first one that got me was "The Shining." The creepy soundtrack, Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duval's amazing performances, and the spooky imagery that came out of nowhere had me sleeping with the lights on for a week! Let's face it, it's Stanley Kubrick at his best.

Can't wait to hear your scariest movie pick!

Have to agree - between Aliens and Shining - the later has to be the most memoriable.

Oh wow.  I remember my first viewing of the original Alien.  It's up there for me too.

But the scariest movie out there... has to be Halloween.  Friday the 13th (Jason V) and Nightmare on Elm Street (Freddy K) are certainly scary too.  But all the other movies have some sort of sci-fi/fantasy type plot.  I feel like Michael Meyers is just more "real" than a lot of the other tropes out there.

I am a wuss and can't do scary movies.... scariest one was Nightmare on Elm Street which as a young child my brother convinced our parents it was okay to take me to watch at the movie theater. That's been 35+ years ago and I still get scared if the closet door is open with a hanger showing

@Cherri Lindquist Nightmare on Elm Street was also the first horror film I watched with my sister, who is 13 years older than me. I begged to watch it and my mom said, "Okay, but if you do, you're sleeping in your bed by yourself. No coming to me!" I should've listened to her warning...haha!

I used to watch a lot of scary movies as a kid - way more than I should have in retrospect - and for me, the scariest was Dolls. I'm not sure it would be as scary now, but back then it was so creepy! It probably didn't help that I had a few porcelain dolls sitting on the shelf in my room at the time.

As soon as you said the title, I remember the VHS box from my old days roaming the aisles of Blockbuster! The box was so creepy, I wouldn't dare watch the movie.

I'm with Cherri - I watch Nightmare on Elm Street with my cousin when I about 14, spent most of the time behind a cushion and wouldn't let her leave the room without me! Never been the same since 💀💀💀💀💀

The Ring...  Wife out of town, turned it on around 10p.  Loved it, messing around with some hidden dvd menu's around midnight, and stumbled across the 2 minute Ring video (iykyk).  5 minutes after I turned the tv to head to bed, LAN line phone rings.  I about passed out...

Yes dear, I hope you have a good night too...

I grew up in a very Catholic family, so The Exorcist confirmed all the Hellfire and Brimstone to the bone.

Did you ever watch "Exorcist III"? One of my professors said it was the scariest movie they have ever seen. I finally watched it a few years ago and...it holds up. Some really good scares.

Does any footage of my first marriage wedding count? :)

If not I'll have to add Hellraiser, really pushed the gore limits for an 80s movie - even more so than Nightmare on Elm Street.

Whoa! Vaun. I just watched Hellraiser for the first time a few years ago, still very effective. Is your wedding footage on Shudder or Netflix?

Haha, Vaun! I got a good laugh about that. I literally just watched Hereditary last night and I'm shook.

Watching Aliens very under age (about 10) in the 80s days of gore. Quite a few sleepless nights.

It was hard for me to decide because the movie "Jaws" did a number on me when I was young, but the other movie that I remember really creeping me out, was Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

I had no idea what to expect, and the T1000 blew my mind. I mean...easily one of the best villains of all time. I had trouble trusting my mom for a few days after watching the movie. I think I gave her a secret password that only we knew.

I assume the top picks for the scariest movie are well known, but I will go for a " The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

The main thing for me is that something like that can happen.
