We've all heard of the "Oscar Snub" where some really amazing movies get overlooked with zero nominations, while other (somewhat clichéd) movies seem to get all the attention. "Well, that's showbiz folks!"

What movie did you just love that didn't get an Academy Award nomination? To go further, what award category should your movie have been nominated for and why?  Tell us and we'll add three extra points to your Trivia Tower Oscars prediction score! And trust me when I say that these three points never get the Oscar snub…

    I'll go first:

Hands down, and I don't have to think twice about this one: The Coen Brother's film, "The Big Lebowski!" I believe it should've been nominated for Best Picture, but also that John Goodman should've won for "Best Supporting Actor."

Tell us your favorite movies without an Academy Award nod and you'll earn those precious three extra points!

I am a movie fanatic and I've never heard of this film, but it is on my list.

May have been before your time (1985), so don't expect a lot of CGI!

I am actually going to steal an answer from Roger Ebert. He once said that Michael Shannon in the movie "Take Shelter" (2011) is the best performance to never get nominated for (or win) an Oscar, and I completely agree! He is loving and caring, but ends up completely deranged, and the I really enjoy the movie as a whole, but I think about his performance and transformation his character goes through a lot. The movie is on Hulu if you want to check it out.

Michael probably should have also been nominated for a small psychological thriller movie called "Bug".

Nicole, I agree 100%! The Big Lebowski is a favorite of mine too! Such a great movie and so well made.

I feel like Edward Scissorhands just didn't get the credit it deserved. It got a Best Makeup Academy Award nomination (no win, though), but I don't feel that was enough.

It is such a classic, isn't is Emily! Edward Scissorhands was one of my favorite movies as a kid, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton magic!

Saving Private Ryan. Love this movie which shows the horror and heartbreak war can bring. I loved that it started with  what appeared to be Tom Hanks perspective, flashing back but the end turns out to be Matt Damon's reflection while at the grave site of Tom Hanks.

I remember seeing "Saving Private Ryan" because I had just seen "Big" and "Forrest Gump" and loved Tom Hanks, but 20 minutes in, I realized I was in a very different movie. One of the movie experiences that I'll truly never forget, luckily the Oscars didn't forget it either, it did get Best Director and some other technical awards, but Best Picture going to "Shakespeare in Love" was definitely a head scratcher.

Because Im an aviation nut - Top Gun (the original)! It got an oscar for sound, but nothing else. Such a great classic movie, and it attracted thousands of kids to join the military!

Heat - 1995 with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jon Voight, Val Kilmer, and Tom Sizemore (oh my gosh, I loved this movie)

This movie was overlooked entirely-crime drama at its best and, of course, some of the most amazing actors, to be sure.

    So many choices.

MirrorMask I really loved it when it came out, probably doesn't hold up by todays standards but feel that it should have done better at the time.

Speaking of not holding up by today's standards

And the Oscar's really should have a Worst Movie award, both Glen or Glenda and Plan 9 from outer space from Ed Wood come to mind.

Ex Machina. 4 characters and a single theory. Executed perfectly, timely and it never strayed from it's core.
