  • 1.  Whatsapp to Genesys Integration- Stuck on disabling 2FA Can someone share their success with me for this integration?

    Hi community. This is my first post ever. I am a project manager who implemented GC with a strong engineering team in April of 2023...so nearly a year in and we are ready to move our digital team to GC to join our phone team. 

    Integration of interests to learn as much as possible: Whatsapp Embedded Sign Up and Integration in Admin

    Has anyone completed the embedded onboarding of Whatsapp into Genesys? Would you be willing to share your insight? We have 4 international WA inside of Twilio and are looking to bring them into Genesys.

    Yes, we have done this for several customers and it seems to have some quirk for every one that is different.  We mostly see issues with not following the wizard exactly or the way the account security was setup.  I have not had a customer yet with multiple WhatsApp accounts, so I can guess there will be some other issues with that as well.  Have you run into specific problems?

    Painful but figured this out. Gave recommendations to the documentation to the author. : ) We got one integrated now working on four more.

    The problem is that is seems every customer has a different setup at Meta and causes different issues.

    I found that you can enact a 2FA disablement in two ways:
    1. If you have a host carrier- we had Twilio
    2. Directly in the WA account for that number itself (which we could not do because it was a new number that we were importing)
      1. Twilio took about 7 days to disable it so time with your carrier closely so it aligns with your go live.
    Since then we have successfully onboarded or migrated 5-6 other WA accounts into Genesys through the embedded workflow.
