The system does not check this license, so the stations will work even if you don't have enough licenses. To be on the safe side, we were asking our customers to buy it in case it is checked after a version update, etc.

I am also referring to SIP Soft Phones.
I am just curious since I a customer is actually asking about this licenses (what are they for) and while they have 430 (or so) Softphone licenses, they have way more Basic Station licenses and for sure they have more than 430 SIP Soft Phones workstations created and working on their system.

These licenses are for the softphone SIP stations. I'm not referring to end-of-life Interaction SIP Station hardphones, as they do not need to be licensed.
If you're using SIP Soft Phone, you must have this license.

If you open your CurrentLicenseAdmin.i3lic license file in your I3\IC directory with a text editor, you would see the actual number of SIP Softphone license count. But there is no realtime view nor license assignment for this license.
